$ALTERDM Whitepaper
A complete, free-to-play fantasy MMORPG with a sustainable play-to-earn layer, settled in a single hard-capped token on Solana. The game comes first. Earning is the reward for playing it.
01Overview
Alter Dimension is a living fantasy MMORPG: a persistent world of 65 maps, 141 monster types, 232 quests and more than 4,000 items. Players create a character, explore the world, fight monsters and bosses, complete quests, join guilds, build a home and trade on a player market. The game is finished and playable today, and it stays free-to-play for everyone.
It is built and run by a solo developer, Yui, who has spent years extending the engine and adding original systems and content. Development is ongoing and hands-on: the world grows, bugs are fixed quickly, and the economy is tuned by the same person who built it.
Play-and-earn is a layer added on top of a real game, not the reason the game exists. Most blockchain games fail because they ship a token first and a game later, or never. Alter Dimension inverts that: the fun, the content and the community already exist. The token rewards the people who actually play.
02Why $ALTERDM
$ALTERDM is the bridge between playing the game and owning something of real value. Inside the world it buys exclusive, top-tier content. Outside the world it is a tradeable Solana asset. A player earns it by doing exactly what the game is already about: exploring, fighting and completing quests.
Its role grows with each phase
The token's importance is deliberately phased. It does not try to be everything on day one, which is how early play-to-earn tokens over-extended and collapsed.
- Early (Phase 0): an in-game prize currency that unlocks exclusive items and content. Pure gameplay value, no chain risk.
- At token generation (Phase 2): $ALTERDM becomes a live, tradeable SPL token with a real liquidity pool, so in-game effort gains an external market price.
- At withdrawal (Phase 3): earned $ALTERDM can be claimed to the player's own wallet, closing the loop between playing and owning.
That is why early participants and the Founder Pack matter: they support the game and the liquidity that make every later phase possible. See the full roadmap.
03The $ALTERDM Token
$ALTERDM is the only on-chain asset in Alter Dimension: scarce, slowly earned, claimable to a linked Phantom wallet and tradeable for real value. Total supply is fixed at 1,000,000,000 with 9 decimals. There is no runtime minting into gameplay. Every token a player can earn comes out of a pre-defined, capped pool.
Inside the game, $ALTERDM unlocks the content players actually chase: premium cosmetics, a token-only shop, top-tier enhancement and fortification, house deeds, guild halls, character renames and token-gated dungeons. That real in-game demand is what gives the token lasting utility rather than pure speculation.
We deliberately use one hard token, not two. In dual-token designs it is the soft grind currency that hyperinflates and collapses. By keeping the grind currency off-chain and making only the prize currency a crypto asset, that failure mode is removed and custody risk is halved.
04Supply & Allocation
Total supply is 1,000,000,000 $ALTERDM, fixed at mint, split across six buckets:
| Bucket | Share | Tokens | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play-to-earn pool | 35% | 350,000,000 | The faucet players earn from |
| Liquidity | 20% | 200,000,000 | Seeds the Raydium / Orca pool |
| Team (vested) | 15% | 150,000,000 | Locked, released over 2-3 years |
| Events & ecosystem | 15% | 150,000,000 | Campaigns, partnerships, giveaways |
| Presale (Founder Pack) | 5% | 50,000,000 | Founder Pack sale, seeds liquidity |
| Reserve | 10% | 100,000,000 | Contingency |
The team allocation is vested, not available at launch. Vesting signals a long-term commitment and that the token will not be dumped. The 5% presale bucket is carved from the play-to-earn pool, which is why that pool is 35% rather than 40%.
05Soft Currency Layer
Copper, Gold, Fragments and Coins stay exactly as they are: off-chain in-game money. They are not tradeable, cannot be withdrawn, cannot crash any market and cannot be farmed by bots for real money. They remain fully owner-controlled game balance.
| Currency | Source | Role | On-chain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copper | Free, from kills | Entry and mid-tier items | No |
| Gold | Grind and quests | Broad progression | No |
| Fragments | In-game | Specialised item costs | No |
| Coins | Premium / Founder Pack | Premium cosmetics | No |
$ALTERDM sits above this soft layer as the only on-chain asset. It is earned into a separate ledger and claimed to a wallet, never mixed into the grind economy. This mirrors the proven split of a soft grind currency versus a hard prize currency, with one advantage: Alter Dimension already shipped the soft layer, so only the prize currency becomes crypto.
06Earning $ALTERDM
$ALTERDM is earned by playing. Emission is deliberately slow and capped on two levels so the token stays scarce and bots cannot farm it at scale. All caps live in server config and are tunable live, without a game deploy.
Earn sources
Every source feeds the same per-account daily cap, so no single activity can be stacked past the limit.
| Source | Reward | Gate |
|---|---|---|
| Daily token quest | 25 | Once per 24h |
| Active playtime | 10 / hour | While actively playing |
| AFK playtime | 2 / hour | Idle in world |
| Token-flagged monster | 5 | Bosses and elites |
07Sinks & Sustainability
A play-to-earn economy survives only when sinks keep pace with the faucet. Alter Dimension runs a closed loop: every token a player spends on a token-priced sink is split three ways.
Token-priced sinks
- Premium cosmetics and a token-only shop
- Top-tier enhancement and fortification
- House deeds and guild halls
- Character rename
- Token-gated dungeons
- Auction and vending fees
As long as spend volume stays near emission volume, the earn pool runway is effectively indefinite, because most of what is spent flows straight back into it. Even with no recycling at all, the raw runway is 350M pool / 100k daily cap = ~3,500 days (about 9.5 years).
08Claiming to Wallet
Earned $ALTERDM lives in an off-chain ledger until a player chooses to claim it to their verified Phantom wallet. Claiming is rate-limited and fully auditable, and opens in Phase 3 once the liquidity pool is stable.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum claim | 100 $ALTERDM |
| Daily claim cap | 1,000 / account / day |
| Network | devnet → mainnet-beta |
- The ledger is debited atomically, then an off-box signer sends an SPL transfer from the treasury to the player's wallet.
- Every claim is idempotent per claim id; if the signer fails, the ledger is refunded automatically.
- A kill switch keeps claiming disabled until the mint and treasury are fully configured.
09Roadmap & Phases
$ALTERDM rolls out in ordered phases. Each phase only unlocks the next once it is stable, so on-chain value is introduced carefully rather than all at once.
10Founder Pack Presale
Startup capital for the liquidity pool is raised through an optional Founder Pack presale (Phase 1), never by gating the game behind a paywall.
- 5% of supply (50,000,000 $ALTERDM) is the dedicated presale bucket.
- The Founder Pack is bought with SOL or USDC. When the presale sells out, the proceeds seed the Raydium / Orca liquidity pool.
- In return, each Founder receives their $ALTERDM allocation plus in-game rewards: boosts, starter packages, an exclusive cosmetic item and early access.
- Tokens are sent to the exact address the contribution came from (standard whitelist mechanic).
- The game itself stays free-to-play, because play-and-earn needs many players to create token demand and sink volume.
The team allocation is vested, no returns are marketed, the owner allocation is never dumped, and the terms are clear. We deliberately avoid the cash-grab path of collecting funds, handing out tokens and letting them crash.
11Treasury & Revenue
The project is funded by legitimate, recurring levers rather than by selling the token out from under its holders:
- Team allocation (150M, vested) - the primary upside, tied to the token's market value over years, not to a launch dump.
- Liquidity pool fees - the owner provides and owns the pool and earns swap fees on trades.
- Sink treasury cut - 10% of every token sink is recurring token income.
- Fiat Coins / VIP via the existing store - a stable, non-crypto revenue base, unchanged.
The token only pays off if the game retains players and the token has real utility. There is no scenario in this design where dumping the team allocation is rational: it would end the project. The incentives are aligned toward a healthy, long-lived economy.
12Fair Play & Security
Alter Dimension is a server-authoritative game. The client never decides what a player owns or earns. Every currency change, item grant and token credit is validated on the server against the database, which is the single source of truth.
- Server-side validation on every economy action, so edited clients and injected packets are rejected and recorded.
- Flood and rate limiting on requests to stop spam and automated abuse.
- Anti-bot earn caps, per account and global, so farms cannot drain the token pool.
- Atomic, idempotent token accounting on an append-only ledger, so balances cannot be duplicated or double-spent.
- The server is actively maintained and security-hardened on an ongoing basis.
Real-money Coins and the Founder Pack center on cosmetics, convenience and early access. $ALTERDM content is reachable by playing the game, not only by buying, so committed free players are never locked out of the economy.
13Risk & Disclaimer
Crypto assets are volatile and regulation varies by jurisdiction. Participate only with what you can afford to lose, and check the rules that apply where you live. Economy parameters described here (emission, caps, sink split, phase timing) are tunable and may change to protect the health of the economy.
